Skeletal Atavism
Skeletal Atavism is defect that can be present in Miniature Horses (and Shetlands) that causes limb deformity. Testing is available here in the USA and in Europe.
Horses that are tested will be either:
- Normal
- Carrier - appears normal but carries the mutation or
- Affected and will exhibit Skeketal Atavism.
